Toubkal Ascent Trek 2 Day Tours Itinerary
Marrakech To High Atlas Mountains
Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech. Travel south through the fertile Haouz Plain and the charming village of Asni before arriving in Imlil, the starting point of your trek.
After meeting your licensed mountain guide and support team, your luggage will be loaded onto mules, allowing you to enjoy the hike with ease. The trail climbs steadily through dramatic mountain scenery, passing the revered shrine of Sidi Chamharouch, where you will stop for a picnic lunch.
In the afternoon, continue ascending toward the Toubkal Refuge, located high in the mountains and surrounded by spectacular natural landscapes. The hike takes approximately 5 to 6 hours and serves as an excellent preparation for the summit attempt the following morning.
After dinner, relax and spend the night at the refuge. During the summer months, tent accommodation may also be available depending on conditions.
An early breakfast is served before dawn, and the summit ascent begins around 5:30 AM. The exact route varies by season, with winter conditions typically requiring a steeper climb, while summer offers a longer but more gradual approach.
Although the ascent is non-technical, it can be physically challenging, particularly near the summit where the terrain becomes steeper. Your experienced guide will ensure a safe pace and provide assistance throughout the climb.
